Kei LaGuins

Singer-songwriter, Performer, and Playwright Kei was born Lakeisha LaGuins, in Athens, Georgia, and was first given the nickname “Kei” by her God Mother. As has been with many of the world’s greatest musical talents, coming from the Bible Belt, Kei started singing Gospel Music at a very young age (i.e. 3yrs old) and was soon performing in her Church Choir. With the constant support of her family and friends, to pursue a career in music, Kei quickly developed a style comprised of Gospel and R&B; influenced by artists like Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Yolanda Adams, & Beyoncé (just to name a few). Kei believes, just as Beyoncé has recently proven, that R&B is in fact - not dead! With a unique mix of Gospel, R&B, & Pop – Kei has taken a page from some of music’s greats, and has combined multiple genres of music to create a sound that ultimately defines her style and brand. With this brand in place, along with the vision of her management team, Kei has been working with vocal trainers and producers to lay down some of her most creative and soulful lyrics to R&B instrumentals… on top of some amazing beats, with a Pop flare. Along with preparing to record her Freshman Solo Album and starting her first National Tour, Kei also writes for BMI and “Big in Da Street Magazine” and could recently be heard doing Vocals for “The Dee Hill Show (on Beat Break Radio FM). Kei intends to take the Entertainment Industry by storm and make her mark on history… along with the hearts and minds of her fans.

Quote from Kei “I am inspired by stories that are told, along with the hurdles and difficulties that I have personally endured. It is important for music to inspire, heal, and motivate… and I intend to do just that!”
